Willow Creek Golf Course, previously named Le Mars Golf Course, is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Le Mars, Iowa. The facility an 18-hole course and two 9-hole golf courses. The 18-hole course is The Red Course and the 9-hole courses are The Black Course and The White Course.
Willow Creek golf course first opened for play in 1961 as a 9-hole course. It was built on the Clark family farm that had been in the family for generations. With highway re-routing additions and other considerations the layout and combinations of nines have morphed over time.
The Red Course (eighteen hole course) has narrow tree-lined fairways and small greens.
The White Course is a regulation nine hole course.
The Blue Course is an executive course. Some consider the undulating greens on this nine to be the most challenging greens at Willow Creek. The Blue Course opened in 1997 and was designed by Tom Haugun.
Both the White and Blue courses have wide-open fairways and medium-sized greens that are undulating. The terrain varies in undulation, and there are water hazards coming into play on all three courses.

This is a must play and ranks among the best courses in Northwest Iowa. A golf trip to Northwest Iowa should include playing Le Mars' Willow Creek, Orange City's Landsmere and Sioux Center's Ridge golf courses. A trip well worthwhile.

Fairways were narrow and hard to hold. I hit several drives into the center of the fair way only to have it roll off the fairway into very deep rough. Majority of my misses were less than 2 feet off the fairway. If you are going to cut the fairways so short you need to have a first cut of rough to catch the balls from rolling into the deep stuff. Greens were fairly hard. I brought several iron shots into the greens from very high and left very few ball marks and had several roll off the back of the greens. Other than that a tough course that was fun to play.
